Varsity Parents,
Please meet at Concord HS to depart at 7A to carpool to Dougherty Valley . It looks like rain in the forecast for our tournament tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 23 at Dougherty Valley High School . Dakotah’s mom, Lisa, said that their family will bring the EZ Up and Alex’s parents said they will bring a tent. So it looks like we should have enough protection from the elements. Donnah Crider has offered to bring a small folding table but we will need another one. Can anyone else please bring a table? Just a reminder………
Below is our food potluck list. This is our last one this season!! Thank you all for your continued support of our girls. I know they truly appreciate it. GO CONCORD!!

Below is a message I am forwarding/resending for Renee Rogers to ALL VOLLEYBALL families -
The District is hounding the coaches and administration to get all Contribute to Play fees collected. I am sending home a brief recap of what has been contributed so far in your daughter's name towards the fee amounts. I do not know the initial amount you might have paid at the beginning of the season - the requested amount was $75, with the remaining $150/player to be fundraised BY THE PLAYER.
The program cannot financially support $5000+ of contribute to play fees without your help and efforts towards this amount. The TOTAL AMOUNT the district is requiring is $7425 and we "owe" $5300 as of today.
The Athletic Boosters have a $ amount set aside for hardship scholarships - BUT YOU NEED TO APPLY FOR IT. Renee Rogers will get you the form if you are in need of assistance. Please email her at slickmommy@aol.com requesting a Contribute To Play scholarship form. There are no guarantees if/how much boosters can help you with - but they can't help you if you don't apply. So email Renee.

Dear Volleyball Families,
I just wanted to remind all families who have not paid their Contribute to
Play (CTP) fees that they are due NOW. You can submit payment to the CHS
Treasurer, Ramon.
If your family is experiencing a hardship and needs to apply for a
scholarship from the Athletics Booster to cover a portion of your CTP fees, please
email me and I can get a form to you.
Thank you,

Hi everyone -
Thanks to all of you have have stepped up and taken care of your initial Contribute to Play amount of $75 -
A BIG THANK YOU to all who have also participated in the opportunities to fundraise the balance amount of $150/player to complete the Contribute to Play amount.
This is the last opportunity presented for players to make up their $150 balance - I have printed sponsorship letterts that players need to address and give back to me by Thursday to be mailed out Friday morning. This sponsorship mailer is similar to the eteamsponsor.com opportunity - yet there are many people that do not use the internet or trust using the internet to send money. Laos - I know that some individuals you wished to contact were not available through an email address i.e. your pediatrician, dentist, etc...
Many Freshmen players took home mailers on Monday to address and return to me - there are directions with the mailers, so it is very simple - yet if I do not get these back I cannot mail them out for you. I have additional copies of the mailers today. Please help your player utilize this last opportunity to fundraise for their fees - a little bit of your time means less dipping into your pocket.
Thanks -

Hi everyone -
I am forwarding along a club volleyball tryout schedule for many clubs in the area. Club volleyball is a great way to continue playing the game after HS season concludes - it provides an opportunity for our players to improve in their individual game play, team play, and learn how to work with girls from all different HS programs in the area.
If you have any questions about a certain club or just what exactly the club system entails, please do not hesitate to ask. If I don't know the answer, I will be glad to find it out for you or point you in the right direction to get the answer. We have various parents that have experience as parents in the club system as well. They could be a great resource for you.

- Our match originally scheduled for Thursday 9/16 vs. Alhambra has been changed. The new date is WEDNESDAY 9/15. WE will have all 3 teams play at their designated game times. The match is at Concord.
See you this week - Tuesday at Dougherty Valley HS
Wednesday at Concord
- WE will have practices on Monday, Thursday, Friday at regular times.
- JV has a tournament this coming Saturday 9/18 at Concord HS - THE FRESHMAN TEAM is working this event. All players will be expected to cover a work shift and perform duties as laid out by the coaching staff.
- There are many players who still have yet to register and get their email sponsorship fundraiser started. The initial email was sent to the PLAYER'S email. Please look for it as it was sent from chsvolleyball@comcast.net on 9/2 saying "Welcome" and the player's name. This is the one big fundraiser for the players to raise their activity participation fees for volleyball season. Each player is responsible for a total of $225 for the season - initially asked to pay $75 and fundraise the remaining. This is an expectation of each player to meet their commitment - and we have provided opportunities for the players to raise this amount - they just need to do the work.
- $75 transportation fee is now due - please get your transportation check to the school treasurer.
- $75 partial activity fee payment is due - please get your check to the school treasurer.
Look forward to seeing you all this week -
Coach Linda Draper

CHS Varsity Volleyball Team Parents,
Thank you all for your help and food contributions at our Deer Valley Jamboree Potluck. It was a success, the girl's had so much good food and it was so nice meeting everyone. Extra special thanks to Dakotah's family and Jenna's family for bringing the EZ Up tents this weekend. Also, thank you to Donnah Crider, for volunteering to help me out and be the Co-team parent for our tean.
We have our first away game of the season this Tuesday at Antioch High school. Since the girl's leave school at about 230p and play at 630p, Coach Linda would like the girl's to have a healthy snack at the game location at about 330p. Thank you to Heidy (Gianna's mom) for volunteering to bring the snacks and water for our girl's first away game. I will have the sign-up list available for those of you who have not had the opportunity to sign-up. Away game snacks can be energy/granola bars, mini sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, cheese and crackers, trail mix, etc. And lots of water!! Donnah or I will bring their gatorade water bottles to each game.
Go Concord!!!
Thank you,
Cecilia

RE: TOURNEY FOOD ASSIGNMENTS
Hi Parents,
We have our first Jamboree/tournament this Saturday at Deer Valley HS. Please see document below for the tournament food assignments. We are attending 4 Tournaments this season, so I have assigned all tournaments to help everyone plan ahead. This lets you check your schedules for any conflicts and make necessary adjustments early on. I have assigned 2 families for the main dish each tournament, this helps to keep costs down and it's easier when 2 families take care of the big item. Any questions/suggestions are welcome. Email is the best way to contact me.
Also, for these tournaments, we will need some tables and an EZ-Up. Does anyone have one that they can volunteer to bring? It appears the weather will be in the high 80s and the girls will need some shade in between games. Also, please remember to bring chairs for yourselves and your daughters.
Along with food/water/shelter for this weekend, we will need to coordinate drivers. There are 3 drivers that have volunteered; Heidy Scott, Renee Rogers and Lisa Johnston. Are any of you available this Saturday to drive? At this time, I am not sure how many will need a ride. I am sure this will be finalized tomorrow night at Coach Linda's house.
Thank you, in advance, for your support. See you all on bright and early Saturday morning.
GO Concord !!!

Hi everyone -
Thank you for attending our player/parent meeting last week. I have attached a roster for all of you - please let me know if anything needs correcting.
We are now in full swing with our schedule - practices and games.
Practice times: Monday 6:30-9:00pm
Wednesday 2:30-5:30p
Friday 3:30-6:00p
If we do not have a game - WE DO PRACTICE. So be aware that this could happen, and be ready for a flexible schedule on that day.
TRANSPORTATION FEE: $75 is now due to the Concord HS treasurer. Please have your player remit this amount and get her receipt to show proof of payment. Make check payable to Concord HS Put player's name and sport in the memo line
VOLLEYBALL SPORTS CONTRIBUTION: Please make the initial contribution of $75 towards the overall amount of $225. Check is to be remitted to the CHS treasurer - put the player's name and sport in the memo line. Please have your daughter tell the treasurer this is for Athletic Contribution.
FUNDRAISING: I am requesting that each girl actively pursue fundraising for the remaining balance of $150 of the Athletic Contribution. AS a program we must cover the entire amount of $8100.00. We do not have final numbers on the Family Fest yet, but I do know that our girls were the BEST VOLUNTEER GROUP by far - they represented Concord Volleyball proudly - I am very thankful to all who helped (Players and parents) As soon as I know the final tabulation, I will let you knaow how much each girl raised towards her personal amount.
ETEAMSPONSORS.COM - the girls should be receiving the initial email from eteamsponsors.com today/tonight. Please check with your player and make sure she follows all of the instructions to register and get going on this fundraiser. Very easy to do - this will be our big fundraiser for the seaon to be applied towards Athletic Contributions.
TEAM PARENT: Cecilia Aronson has volunteered to be a Co-Team Parent for our squad this year. I hope someone else might step alongside her to take on some of the responsibilities of this position. She will be contacting all of you regarding jamboree/tournament food tables, pre-match healthy snacks/small meals for away games, driving to tournaments, etc. Please help her out by responding to her requests and volunteering where you are capable of helping out.
RECYCLING: Brian Weisinger has volunteered to help with the recycling. He will be in contact with everyone in regards to how he is going to "run the recycling show" for us. Thank you Brian.
CRAB FEED AUCTION BASKET: Lisa Johnston (Dakotah's mom) and Nancy Porfirio (Mackenzie's mom) will be coordinating ideas and donations for our Crab Feed Auction Basket.
TEAM DINNERS: Thank you to the families that have open their homes for our team dinners. If you would like to help, cook food, etc please contact the host.
9/3 - Coach Draper's house team bonding activities and goal setting.
9/29 - Weisinger household
10/18 - Welsh/Rogers household
10/27 - Brilz/Porfirio household
DRIVERS: The following have volunteered driving to various activities as needed. Please turn in your insurance driving form that was passed out at the meeting. Players are not allowed to transport other players for away activities -
Heidy Scott
Renee Rogers
Lisa Johnston
Our schedule is FULL - we are going to be one busy group of girls. Please help your daughter out by keeping her on track with her school work, her sleep, her weekend activities. We need healthy players to complete this long season.
Thank you for all of the volunteering - I look forward to a great season with lots of improvement and growth from all of our girls.

RE: VOLLEYBALL FAMILY FEST
Hi CHS Volleyball Players and Parents!
Thank you all for volunteering to support the FamilyFest inaugural event in Walnut Creek . The event is at Heather Farm Park , 301 N San Carlos Dr, Walnut Creek. When you arrive, go to the Volunteer Check-In Booth located along San Carlos Drive , just before the Community Center. Everyone needs to check in and get a badge/pass. At that time you will be directed to the Face Painting booth
Attached - (PLEASE SEE BELOW)
1. List of who is working what shift
2. TENTATIVE map of the event. This is subject to change, but it gives you an idea of what is where.
Here are a few things you need to know:
1. Arrive in plenty of time and allow extra time for traffic and parking.
2. Dress comfortably and respectfully. Remember this is an event for families and young children.
3. IF POSSIBLE, wear CHS t-shirts or something representing your school.
4. Bring plenty of water to drink.
5. If you are working two shifts you may want to bring some small snacks or money to buy food.
6. Cell phones and Ipods etc. should be put away. Do not use them while volunteering.
7. When working in the booth – be professional and attentive to all the people attending the event. In other words… please no goofing around! J
8. Your #1 priority is to paint the kids – either on their face or their arm. This is a free activity for the children, but parents will usually put extra money in the tip jar if they feel you did a good job! The tips are part of how you are earning money for the team!
9. The better your customer service, the more tips you earn for CHS Volleyball!
Thank you everyone for stepping up. It is a lot of fun, a great way to represent CHS Volleyball & support the community and is a great resume builder for those college applications!
If you have any questions please contact Jenna Leavitt or call me on my cell phone… (please see your emails for the phone number)

Wow! The month of July just flew past us - many have been working hard coming to weights/conditioning throughtout the summer, coming to the gym on T/TH nights working on game skills -
Our last big push before tryouts is coming up - CHS SKILLS CAMP, Aug. 9-13 at Pleasant Hill MS. Don't forget to get your registration in by Aug. 1 for the reduced reg. fee. Utilize this camp to your benefit as it will give you a head start going into tryouts with just that preknowledge of the skill basics and drills that will be considered at tryouts. CAMP IS NOT TRYOUTS - it is to help YOU prepare and get better. So use it for that : )
ALSO - Skills Camp is a way to do some fundraising towards your athletic participation fee**. For every reg. you get for a camper - $30 will go towards your participation fee. An easy to make some $$ towards your commitment AND bring in more players for a successful camp. I have attached the reg, form for you to pass along to players from other programs, young girls that you know through other associations, etc...
** athletic fees for volleyball 2010 are $225 participation fee AND $75 transportation as set by the district based on information/proposal from United Mt. Diablo Sports Foundation. You can check out the proposal and meeting minutes and other events at the UMDSF website.

Friday Aug. 20 8:30-11:30am (Var) 5:00pm-8:00pm (everyone)
It is a crazy schedule as it will be demanding on your personal schedule and your body = get prepared, be ready for a tough week, but with a great sense of accomplishment at the end : )
PRIOR TO TRYOUTS - Get your Athletic Clearance complete - ALL AREAS - Make sure you get your Doctor's signature and date! Along with all insurance information complete on the form.
NO STEROIDS form - complete/sign
Missing forms - go the the CHS Athletic Boosters website and down load the forms you need
ALL FORMS must be complete and turned in by the 1sr day of tryouts - no athletic clearance=no tryout until form complete
Wow - lots of info and probably more to come - Get ready for an awesome season!
